Villa Sol: Oceanfront Privacy on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast

Set on over six acres of rare oceanfront property, Villa Sol offers sweeping views, unmatched seclusion, and the kind of privacy you almost never find on the Sunshine Coast. Here, you won’t see your neighbours—only eagles overhead, seals in the waves, and, if fortune smiles, pods of orcas or humpbacks passing by.

Our spacious retreat includes four distinctive bedrooms and suites, multiple living areas, and three full bathrooms—featuring an oceanview soaker tub, steam shower, and walk-in rain shower—plus two additional powder rooms. Thoughtful amenities like a hot tub, sauna and pool table make it easy to gather, connect and unwind in your own coastal sanctuary.

Orcas and Humpback Whales

In the summer of 2023 alone, we were delighted to witness over 14 sightings of these magnificent creatures, including four encounters in one week in late May! Pods of Orcas, Humpbacks, Porpoises and Dolphins are all on the menu along with resident sea lions and numerous seals. From the comfort of our decks, bedrooms, living room and hot tub, it was exhilarating to observe the whales feeding, breaching and playing in their natural habitat. We are honoured that our property has been selected as a whale monitoring station in partnership with Raincoast Conservation Foundation with the installation of an underwater microphone and 180 degree digital remote video camera to livestream the whales and other mammals transiting Malaspina Straight. (These will not intrude on any privacy of our guests as the camera can only view the water of Malaspina Straight)

We have added our videos of some of these encounters caught on our iphones. Please excuse the amateur and impromptu nature of these personal clips :)
